man...singapore rox! i'm not referring to its safety in geographical terms, but rather its supremacy in footballing sense! we are in the Finals!haha...though the match was more like a rugby game den anything else (mud wrestling fits the final minutes though..haha) but it was pure entertainment, wouldn't you say?
kinda missed out on a chance to watch them live cos of the weather (and dumb serhwee for not confirming anything..basket).the rain made the national stadium pitch look like some swamp la...the mud's so think and the pitch's so spongy and soggy hardly any football could be played..but what a spectacular match that was..
how often can u hear singaporeans feel proud of the national team since 1998? hardly! but with this 4-2 victory over myanmar (they led 2-0 at first) we are thru to the Tiger Cup Finals! the match was undoubtedly filled with talking points...but what can beat the 4 red cards shown?haha..3 players sent off (2 in the space of a minute) and 1 got sent off frm the bench! u guys shld know la..that f***ed up goalie who threw that bottle at subramani la! he even had the audacity to taunt the fans after throwing the bottle! the blardy myanmar players are so rough and uncivilised! one of the players sent off actually kicked mud at the referee sia!haha...cool! imagine seeing roy keane doing that! another player who was sent off actually stayed on the bench sia...tot he's supposed to be OFF ?! he even went on to take part in the brawl in the closing minutes.haha.
not that i'm being sadistic n stuff, but the match certainly look like WWE quality eh? the referee completely lost the plot sia...n he couldn't stop the players from sliding at each other w career-ending intentions, and players shoving and elbowing opponents for the pleasure.jus count the number of fouls! but singapore showed quality and poise of professionals sia...no wonder they won with 11 men against 8!haha..
the goals didn't flow for singapore despite their chances (the pathetic pitch and some good last ditch tackles saved myanmar!) and myanmar scored with immense luck! a long range strike frm that no.7 guy early on was stunning for the pitch conditions, but the deflected 2nd goal off benett was pure unlucky..singapore however did not sit down purring and licking its wounds, it stood up and clawed back with alam shah (my new idol for the day..haha) scoring a hat trick!! ok la..not super spectacular cos 2 of his 3 goals came when myanmar was reduced to 8 men..haha.to tink of it, a penalty shoot out would be nice! imagine players kicking up tonnes of mud la..haha.even singapore's veteran striker (and striker of important goals sia...w goals against man u and japan etc) missed a penalty la! he struck the post with the keeper already wrong footed..
heard frm yeechwan that following that melee on the pitch and the final whistle, there were mild rioting frm the fans.haha..man i wanna be there!! sigh...all serhwee's fault! but come to think of it, singapore's standard has risen quite abit sia.maybe its time to watch s-league matches again, eh? they certainly have the defensive discipline and can hold a shape, and their strikers (cashmir and dickson) are amazingly strong and fast..guess its really time to show some local support ppl!
but the weather sux.it has been raining nearly non stop la...raining and raining.mum said the temp outside was 25degrees...and candidly said she could actually wear those stuff we brought over to beijing.haha.but hell...it sure was cold and wet...what a way to enter NS!! i'm gonna be confined in swampiness and wetness for 2 weeks atleast! haiz..oh well stil gotta serve!
nothin much happened today...hope tmr's farewell for yen in henry's house will turn out ok..heard alot of prep is being done for this and i seriously hope the last major outing b4 i step onto tekong will be the 1st thoroughly enjoyable one in a LONG time..haha
oh well...hitting the sack liao.cya peepz! peace~!
still thinking about you.still missing you..will you ever come back? i hope so, but i guess not.
